The wait has finally been over after Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi qualified to the semifinals of the featherweight division in the Tokyo Olympic. As has been stated that all semifinalists automatically qualify for a medal, Ghana was hopeful for a medal security at the ongoing games.

After many Ghanaians doubted whether it was true or not, Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi who from his previous interviews made known to the public that his target was Gold and nothing else had to bow out to Duke Regan, a professional boxer who had a little edge over the amateur Ghanaian boxer.

Samuel Takyi mounted the podium along side Albert Batyrgaziev who represented the Russia Olympic Committee picking up the Gold medal, Duke Regan of the United States of America picking the Silver medal, with Lázaro Álvarez from Cuba and Ghana’s own Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi picking Bronze.

Congratulations to the Black Bombers for their heroics and Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi who took the battle of the nation on his shoulders. Ghana is proud of his achievement.
