Ghana’s WBO Africa Lightweight champion, Faisal Abubakar aka ‘Poncho Power’ on Saturday suffered the first defeat in his professional career when he refused to come into the middle of the ring in Germany after six rounds going for the WBO Intercontinental title against Slawa Spomer.
Faisal who was accompanied by Coach Ernest Ofori apologized to his fans for the lose and hoped to come back and prepare for the next mission.
He was one of the continental title hopefuls of many boxing fans in Ghana. He has for some time reigned after Theo Allotey and John Laryea in the Boxinghana Pound for pound ratings.
