Jerry Klutei Robertson fighting for “legacy” against Michael Decardi Nelson.
Few names carry the same weight and historical pedigree as Klutei Robertson.
This was the name of one Floyd Klutei Robertson, a three-time Commonwealth boxing champion and a challenger for the WBA and WBC world featherweight title in the 1960s.
On September 19th, a new branch of the Klutei bloodline will be stepping into the ring, about 60 years later
Jerry Klutei Robertson, a descendant of the legendary Floyd Robertson, is set to face Michael Decard Nelson in a super bantamweight bout scheduled for 8 rounds at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Jerry Robertson (7-2, 6 KOs) is an orthodox puncher coming into the fight with a 85% knockout ratio.
He will look to write his own chapter in history against Michael Decardi Nelson (9-2, 7 KOs) a southpaw boxer who is equally prepared for the bout.
Both boxers have had similar careers to date. Robertson suffered his second career loss to Russian boxer Chingiz Natyrov in 2025. That same year Decardi Nelson lost to Zambian David Mwale by unanimous decision.
Robertson and Nelson are both coming off wins in 2026 and will hope to extend their runs come fight night.
On paper, fans are getting a fun fight.
Robertson enters the fight with explosive power and is unafraid of trading punches with his opponents. In most of his fights, he adopts a high-pressure style that allows him to dictate the pace of the fight.
Decardi Nelson, on the other hand, fights with a more technical approach, fighting behind his jab and looking out for opportunities to counter his opponents.
On Septmeber 19, we get to see two of Ghana’s brightest talents against each other in a contest that promises fireworks.
In the main event, Theophilus Allotey will take on Argentinian opponent Facundo David Garcia in a WBA title eliminator bout.
