Coach Ernest Ofori hails Faisal Abubakari’s performance in Germany despite defeat

Coach Ernest Ofori, who was in the corner of Ghanaian boxer Faisal Abubakari during his fight in Germany last weekend, has opened up about the circumstances surrounding the bout.

According to Coach Ofori, Faisal, a lightweight who fought at weight 149.9 pounds was facing serious financial difficulties, a situation that played a major role in his decision to accept the fight despite the challenges surrounding it.

The coach made a strong statement regarding the boxer’s financial situation, highlighting the difficult circumstances Faisal was dealing with before stepping into the ring.

Unfortunately, the fight did not go in Faisal and his team’s favour, as the Ghanaian boxer suffered defeat against his German opponent, but according to Coach Ofori, his ward did very well and his opponent’s corner hailed him as a warrior.

Meanwhile, the revelations have sparked conversations among boxing fans about the financial struggles faced by some Ghanaian boxers and the difficult decisions they sometimes have to make to remain active in the sport.

In another development, news reaching us indicates that Abubakar has been stripped off the WBO Africa lightweight title due to inactiveness. He has been having problems with his management.

But the boxer known as ‘Poncho Power’ says God is with him and soon the problems will be over.
