Theophilus Allotey to face Facundo Garcia on September 19th

Theophilus Allotey (14-0, 11 KOs) will return to the ring on September 19th, facing Argentinian boxer Facundo David Garcia (6-2-2, 3 KOs) in a 12-round bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

This fight is being put on by Obra Promotions, a new promotion company looking to make their mark on the local boxing circuit.

Allotey has had an amazing few years since turning pro in 2024, peaking after his win over Jayr Raquinel last year. Allotey has secured one victory this year, which was a seventh-round knockout against Jonas Erastus in April.

Allotey is one of only two Ghanaian boxers to be ranked by boxing’s major sanctioning bodies and is the only Ghana-based fighter to be ranked by the Ring Magazine.

Facundo Garcia will attempt to displace Allotey from the top 15 rankings in their upcoming match on September 19th.

The bout is billed as a title eliminator, meaning the winner could be next in line to face David Jimenez for the WBA super flyweight strap.

The event will also feature several Ghanaian boxers on the bill including 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Samuel Takyi (8-0, 8 KOs) former national bantamweight champion Michael Decardi Nelson (9-2-1, 7 KOs) as well as undefeated heavyweight prospect Joseph ‘Junior Bazooka’ Antwi (6-0, 6 KOs).
