Dr. David Kofi Mawuvi Wuaku, Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Sports Fund has assured the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) and the national boxing team, the Black Bombers of support in the near future.
At a special meeting to invite the Ghana Sports Fund operators to the international boxing competition between the Metro Detroit Golden Gloves and the Black Bombers, he said the current representative of the National team must be lucky as their predecessors did not enjoy anything known as the Sports Fund.
He expressed that all national team excellent performers are going to benefit from the sports fund and urged the Black Bombers to train hard to win more for the nation.

“We warmly welcome you but are not happy with recent performances of some national teams, while others are doing their best,” he said.
He announced that Prof. Azumah Nelson is a board member of the Ghana Sports Fund and his presence is to support boxing which has given the nation more medals at the African, Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
“Boxing is very important to Ghana and the Sports Fund was instituted to support athletes including boxers” he expressed.
“This is your home, we are mandated to develop sports. You are fortunate now that the fund has been established” he noted.
Dr. Wuaku hinted that they will deal with Federations, not individuals.

The GBF and Bombers were led by veteran boxing consultant Mr. Yoofi Boham, Mr. George Lamptey former President and now ITO, Nii Adama Addy the First Vice President and Treasurer Mustapha Nettey.
Others in the contingent that paid the visit were Coaches Vincent Akai Nettey, Elvis Robertson, Benjamin Tetteh and Martey.
The boxers who joined included Ebenezer Ankrah, Henry Malm, Mathias Ashitey, Solomon Sackey, Emmanuel Amui, Ben Bulley, Wahid Omar and Amadu Mohammed.
They promised to win against the Metro Detroit Golden Gloves.

Present at the meeting was Simon Appiah and other staff of the Ghana Sports Fund.
The international amateur competition comes off on Saturday evening at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
