The National Boxing Team, Ghana Black Bombers has been augmented with the inclusion of some experienced boxers who will inspire the younger ones to play above themselves as they clash with the Detroit Golden Gloves team on Saturday October 10 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

“It’ s a call up to duty, to serve the nation and we are ready, when coach asked me I told him am prepared” he said.

The Black Bombers technical setup is now in the hands of coaches Vincent Akai Nettey and Charles Quartey assisted by Elvis Robertson, Ben Tetteh and Latequaye Lartey.

The Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF). Nii Gonti Adjor 1 has assured boxing fans of a good show and appealed to sponsors for more engagements for the Black Bombers.

Mr. George Lamptey, a former President of the GBF, now an International Technical Official (ITO) said the test against Detroit Golden Gloves should put the Bombers in high spirits before they go for the African Boxing Championship in Kinshasa, Congo.

But many followers of the GBF are wondering whether they have funds for their activities as they are unable to pay journalists who cover their events.

The executives seem to be disorganised following the departure of the president to the USA for his private business. As the GBA has no organiser portfolio, the organisation of events and programmes is on the Treasurer and some Executive members

He however met coach Joseph Awinongya and they discussed plans for cultural and sporting exchanges programmes between Ghana and the USA.
