SAMUEL ‘RING WARRIOR’ TAKYI RECEIVES A HERO’S WELCOME

Share

The Ghanaian contingent at the just ended Tokyo Olympics showed more courage and promise after breaking the old headache of Ghana’s inability to win an Olympic medal for over 25years.

Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi who demonstrated courage and strength after his teammates were eliminated from the boxing discipline won the only medal for team Ghana during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games and his arrival in Ghana was epic.

The Kotoko International Airport (KIA) was packed with various support groups and individuals who followed his progress during the games.

It was a beautiful scene as he presented his medal to the crowd who could not stop but cheer his name in jubilation and praise.

Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi arrived at KIA around 6pm on Friday 13th August, 2021 with the crowd already stationed and awaiting his presence.

This goes a long way to demonstrate the love of boxing in Ghana is gaining its name once again as boxing once again saved Ghana at the just ended olympic games as the only discipline that put Ghana on the medal table.

As the supporters and spectators made the arrival a colourful scene, so did the medal won by Samuel Takyi who fought gallantly as a warrior and delivered on his promise by returning home with a medal.

Congratulations once again to Samuel Takyi, Coach Ofori Asare and his able deputy, Sulemanu Tetteh for setting the pace and Shakul Samed Bastir as well as all athletes who represented team Ghana at the Tokyo Olympics.
