Asamoah Gyan visits Bronx Gym to motivate aspiring world champion John Laryea 

Former Black Stars captain and Africa’s leading goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup, Asamoah Gyan aka ‘Baby Jet’ has praised WBO Africa and IBF Africa Featherweight Champion, John Abaja Laryea for his commitment and discipline.

Gyan who is an Ambassador for the Ghana National football teams and was a panelist on Super Sport TV during the FIFA World Cup visited the Bronx Boxing Gym at Jamestown in Accra on Tuesday to watch the training of Laryea who is supposed to fight an Argentine boxer, Adrian Robledo Maximiliano in a few days to come, on August 15. 2025..

It is a WBA Eliminator and very important in the boxing career of Laryea aka ‘Expensive Boxer’ as victory will get him a shot at the World Title.

According to Gyan, he loves Laryea because he is a very serious boxer who obeys instruction and implements it.

He also hailed Laryea for his dedication and hoped that he will go higher to realise his dreams of becoming a world boxing champion. 

Laryea trains under Coach Carl Lokko with other boxers like Daniel Gorsh, Abu Tilapia Kamoko, Emmanuel Quartey and others. 

Gyan was accompanied by his senior brother, Baffour and manager, Samuel Anim Addo who is the CEO of Bronx Boxing Promotions.
