GBF President call for fair officiating at 2026 Commonwealth Games Boxing Events
President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), Dauda Fuseni has appealed to ring officials at the Commonwealth Games boxing events to give fair decisions.
Speaking to journalists at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, he seemed not to be content with the decision on the bout between medal hopeful, Ebenezer Ankrah and home boy, Nicholas Delvin with was judged 2-3 in favour of Delvin of Scotland.
According to Fuseni, it was clear that the Ghanaian won but he was robbed of the victory.
“The boxers feel so bad when they do very well and they are clearly robbed. It affects the entire team, but we are hopeful to bring some medals home” he assured.
Coach Dr. Ofori Asare said he is sad and afraid because he does not know what will happen after they have worked hard and robbed at the end.

Precious Akai Nettey brought hopes alive when he stopped Elijah Qiokata of Fiji opponent in round 2 in men’s 70 kg round of 16 and is through to the quarter finals – he is one win away from the medal zone – Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Desmond Pappoe also won on Monday after beating Josh Tonga of Tonga by split decision in men’s 80 kg to qualify for the quarter finals, making it five Ghanaian wins away from the medal zone at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. On Wednesday, Pappoe faces Ghanaian Born Canadian boxer Joshua Ofori for the 80kg division quarter finals.
The Black Bombers, Ghana’s boxing team had a bad start with the lose of skipper Abdul Wahid Omar at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, following Abdul Wahid Omar’s 0-5 lose to Patris Mughalzai of England in 65 kg round of 32.
His ambition for a third medal at the Commonwealth Games was truncated, having won from previous games in 2014 at the same Glasgow & 2022 Birmingham Games respectively.
Amadu Mohammed got Ghana’s first win in boxing, by stopping Kiribati opponent in round one.
All the three female boxers presented lost their first bouts. Nancy Bamfo suffered a 0-5 defeat to Nicole Clyde of Northern Ireland in women’s 54 kg, Adelaide Djabatey was beaten by Jasmine Daunakamakama in women’s 57 kg division while Ramatu Quaye lost 0-5 to Amber-Jane Wall of Canada in 51 kg round of 16.
