The New NABF Featherweight titlist Isaac ‘the Royal Storm’ Dogboe has offered to join the Sports Ministry to promote boxing, the sport he passionately loves so much in Ghana.

In a meeting he had with the Youth and Sports Minister Hon. Mustapha Ussif last Wednesday, Isaac via his twitter handle revealed

“My team and I had an excellent conversation with the Minister Of Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif and per our discussion I am glad to have come to an agreement to be working with them side by side to improve the sport of boxing in Ghana 🇬🇭… “

Early this year, precisely on the 18th of February, a story I wrote and published on boxinghana.com with headline “Ghana Boxing not on enough legs to move forward” was quoted by the Royal Storm with response

“Don’t worry it’ll change when I assume a position of authority when God permits…Trust me!”.

The story on the said publication lamented on the poor coverage boxing is receiving in Ghana where there’s absolutely no live telecast of our heroes when they mount the ring at big stages as well as inadequate reportage of such bouts by our sports journalists.

The agreement reached between the Sports Minister and Team Dogboe as revealed by the NABF champ shows a huge step to the promise made. As the days unfold, we’ll all be hoping for the betterment of Ghana Boxing having the champ Isaac Dogboe on board as well.
