One of Ghana’s finest boxing referee Erasmus Owoo was in the middle of an international contest between 2-time world champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov and Artur Mann of Germany.

The Russian, Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, eventually secured a massive round 9 technical knockout over his nemesis Arthur Mann in a highly contested International Boxing Association (IBA) organized competition as part of its fourth Ordinary congress currently on-going in the capital of UAE, Dubai.

Referee Erasmus Dowuana Owoo has officiated some very high profiled fights including the controversial stoppage between Michael Ansah and Sheriff Quaye, in a high stake local rivalry.

Many connoisseurs of the pugilist sports are of the opinion that his discretion in that fight (Ansah vs. Quaye ) according to the rules of the game, was spot on.

Since his debut in the year 2009, the Ghanaian has so far officiated over 776 bouts according to boxrec. Some of his notable achievements are Richard Commey versus Dan Quartey in 2011, Emmanuel Tagoe against Miguel Leonardo Caceres from Argentina in 2012, Sena Agbeko against versus Eric Kwardey, Frederick Lawson and Mohammed Tagoe just to mention but few.

His international bouts are countless with the very recent one being the one under review. The sky is certainly the limit for this great Ghanaian referee. Watch the space
