Former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa heavyweight champion Richard Lartey has stated categorically that he never forged any letter as reported earlier.

Richard Lartey speaks up during a Facebook Live show dubbed “BOXING COURT”

Speaking on one of the most watched boxing shows on social media dubbed “Boxing Court,” he lamented how he was told to render an apology in order to have his 4 year ban lifted.

“The reason I issued the apology letter, was because the current GBA President assured me that if I apologize for my comments, the ban was going to be lifted” He said.

“But he later came to me to further apologize to Cabic Promotions and Ivan Cudjoe, which I refused, because that would be me admitting to a wrong.” he stated.

He was then asked by the host Samuel Ofosuhene, if he felt aggrieved by this treatment, to which he stated “yes” emphatically.

The defunct boxer in April of this year got slapped with a five-year ban for the second time by the Ghana Boxing Authority for fighting with a Tanzanian license.
