NBF President Edun Inspires Nigerian Boxers To Go All Out Against Ghana In Friendly Tournament
President of the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) Hon. Wale Edun has advised Nigerian national amateur boxers to give a good account of themselves in Thursday’s friendly tournament against the Black Bombers of Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Edun gave the inspiration in his message to the team at the National camp in Lagos on Monday. He urged them to stay focused in their training and be worthy ambassadors of the country in their trip to Ghana.
“Firstly, I want you all to be conscious of our national flag which you carry, you must do so with pride, the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana is no exception, despite being a friendly match you must fight for the pride of our nation”. Edun said
The seventeen (17) man contingent is made up of boxers, coaches, and officials.
The bilateral tournament is aimed at assessing both countries’ boxers’ performance and readiness ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), Dauda Fuseni said this is the first international test for most of the Black Bombers however he knows they will excel.
