Ayitey Powers Promotions draws a huge crowd at the Winneba Aboakyir Festival Boxing Fight Night.

The town of Winneba was engulfed in boxing action on the evening on Friday May 1 for the Aboakyir Fight Night at the Winneba Sports College.

The bouts were exciting and fans had much to cheer about. 

Ayitey Powers who put together the package said there were a few challenges but all were solved later.

He revealed that it was a free show as spectators did not pay anything to watch the exciting bouts.

He noted that the event was to create awareness about boxing as the leading sport in Ghana and also give the people of Winneba some sporting entertainment as the celebrate the Aboakyir festival. 

According to the former boxer, he is yet to receive compensation from the National Sports Authority after his bill was called off.

“Hmm, I have not received anything yet but I can’t be idle and wait, I must be active and do something that’s why we came to Winneba” he expressed. 

He thanked a few sponsors and partners who supported him to bring the show alive and make people happy.

Nigeria’s Samuel Opaogun lost to Benin Republic’s Imorou Hanri Tadja Wali for the vacant WBA Africa welterweight title.

WBO Africa Super Lightweighr champion Faisal Abubakar won his bout and warned his African challengers. He said his focus is on going for the World title. 

Some of the fans were watching live boxing for the first time and commended Ayitey Powers Promotions for the entertainment they brought to Winneba.

“A massive crowd attended the historic Winneba Aboakyir Boxing event hosted by Ayitey Powers Promotion.

I was there with my able Bell Man, Ataa Addo,  to deliver on our mandate as Ring officials of the GBA.” said Derek Nii Asah Ankrah. Score Master of the Ghana Boxing Authority.
