The world of boxing was about to witness one of the biggest fights of all time between Uinified Heavyweight king Anthony Joshua and the WBC champion Tyson Fury which was set to happen on Saturday, August 14 in Saudi Arabia, but has been canceled due to an arbitration order for the latter to face Deontay Wilder.
Joshua produced a brilliant knockout win to end 2020 as WBA, IBF and WBO champion by beating Kubrat Pulev at Wembley Arena and then welcomed a unification fight with Fury in the aftermath. The Gypsy king on the other hand claimed his own incredible win in 2020 against Deontay Wilder to take the WBC strap, was ready to take on his British rival in 2021.
All parties agreed, contracts were signed, a date and venue was ready and official announcement was imminent only for it to be revealed that Wilder won his arbitration case for a third fight with Fury. This brought a huge disappointment to both parties especially Joshua.
The WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight king expressed his dissapointment on twitter tagging Fury as a fraud
” .@Tyson_Fury the world now sees you for the fraud you are. You’ve let boxing down! You lied to the fans and led them on. Used my name for clout not a fight. Bring me any championship fighter who can handle their business correctly.”
The Gypsy king responded to Joshua’s tweet
“@anthonyjoshua your more full of shit that Eddie, Spouting absolute shite! your full team knew there was an Arbitration going on, it was out of my hands! but i tell you what if i’m a fraud let’s fight this weekend bare knuckles till 1 man quits? let’s put up 20 mill each!!! 🖕🏻🖕🏻”
The verbal war didn’t end there, Joshua querried Fury why he announced their fight knowing of an ongoing arbitration
“If there was an arbitration going on, why announce to the world we are fighting! The fight was signed! UNDISPUTED 💥

The war was ‘adjourned’ after this from Fury
