The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), has sent a goodwill message to the challenger Patrick Allotey ahead of his titanic world title battle with Jaime Munguia the defending champion for the World Boxing Organisation World Super Welterweight Strap slated for Saturday Sept 14 at the Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California, USA.

In a release signed by the hard working Secretary General of the GBA, Patrick Johnson, on behalf of the President and Board members of (GBA), the well worded Press Release stated:

“At long last our collective dream to get another world champion is yet to happen.

We know a lot of efforts and money has gone into it to bring you this far.  The GBA and the people of Ghana believe in you.”

The authority further urged the self styled ‘Poisonous Arrow’ to cement his name amongst the Golden history of Ghanaian boxing greats.

“We know you have what it takes to be like our former world boxing champion from Ghana, namely Roy Ankrah, Floyd Robertson Klutei, DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Nana Yaw Konadu, Alfred Kotey, Joseph Agbeko, Joshua Clottey, Isaac Dogboe and the current Champion Richard Commey because you are a Ghanaian soldier and a warrior as well.”

The statement further expressed confidence in the ability of Patrick Allotey to clinch the WBO world super welterweight belt from his Mexican opponent who stands three inches taller than the Ghanaian this Saturday in the United States of America.

“Don’t give up don’t lose focus keep and without iota of doubt we know you will bring the title to Ghana.

We cannot afford to sit unconcerned as the statutory body in charge of promotion and development of Boxing in Ghana, but to support you both physically and spiritually to bring the title to our homeland Ghana. We believe in you.” The statement concluded.

Ghana’s WBO Africa champ Patrick has the opportunity to win the world title this Saturday if he is able to overcome undefeated champion Jaime Munguia from Mexico.
