Samuel ‘No Chance’ Quaye, Musah Lawson return on July 31 at Bukom Boxing Arena
The Bukom Boxing Arena will host the return of former national super lightweight champion Samuel ‘No Chance’ Quaye (10-2, 7 KOs) on July 31st, marking his first bout in over a year.
Quaye’s last appearance in the ring was a year ago in April, a fight he lost to Canadian boxer Spencer Wilcox at the Riyadh Boxing Grand Prix.
On July 31, he’s set to go head-to-head with Togolese boxer Somabe Simplice (1-5-1, 1 KO) in an eight-round contest.
Simplice is no stranger to the Ghanaian terrain, having already competed six times in the country.
Quaye will look to bounce back with a win and possibly contend for a national or regional title in the coming months.
The division he left behind is a hotbed of emerging talent, with stars like Africanus Neequaye, Samuel Takyi, and Gideon Nortey recently delivering standout performances.
Also on the card, national super welterweight champion Musah Lawson (17-1, 12 KOs) will go toe-to-toe against Nigeria’s Raimi Isiaka (11-3, 11 KOs).
Lawson is keen to begin the year on a high note with a win, following the cancellation of his earlier bout against Dana Kofi. Isiaka, his opponent, is a veteran 41-year-old boxer boasting a 100% knockout rate and two wins already in this year.
SEM Promotions, led by Edward Coleman, will be promoting the event, and here are the fights currently on the card:
Musah Lawson vs Raimi Isiaka (8 rounds, super welterweights)
Samuel Quaye vs Somabe Simplice (8 rounds, super lightweights)
Jerry Robertson vs Raoul Adjaho (8 round, super bantamweights)
