Richard Nii Lartey Harrison is a Ghanaian professional heavyweight boxer who aimed at stamping his name in the boxing scene after his numerous unproductive bouts.

Richard Nii Lartey Harrison has a pro boxing record of 14 wins and 4 loses to his name. On the 27th of April 2019, Harrison lost to Daniel Dubios in a heavyweight bought after Dubois landed a heavy hook to win by TKO. Harrison again lost to Nathan Gorman following a unanimous decision on the 10th of October 2020 and his current lose that has brought about his query from the GBA against Fabio Wardley after a devastating left/right hook combination on the 21st of November 2020.

The Ghanaian heavyweight boxer following a letter dated 12th, March 2021 by the Ghana Boxing Authority(GBA) referenced “GBA/ADM/1/13” subjected the heavyweight boxer to understand his stance after his refusal to appear before the GBA disciplinary/arbitration committee in accordance with the statues of the authority.

The Ghana Boxing Authority proceeded to suspend the heavyweight boxer, Richard Nii Lartey Harrison following his refusal to appear and answer questions pertaining to allegations of document forgery. Paragraph 2 of the letter from the GBA stated; “The GBA took cognisance of the fact that despite the entries on record which confirmed that you had been notified with the Summons to appear on the 26/11/2020, 30/11/2020 and 9/3/2021 respectively, you had on each occasion refused to appear without reasonable cause.” and it continued to read “Given the serious misconduct and criminal nature of the offense you had been charged with, ie forging the Release Letter and Signature of the General Secretary Mr. Patrick Johnson to enable you honour the fights in the United Kingdom against one Fabio Wardley on the 21st day of November 2020. The GBA took a decision to suspend your licence for a period of Five (5) years commencing on the 11th day of March 2021.”

With Richard Nii Lartey Harrison’s professional boxing licence suspended by a letter signed by Peter Zwennes, the President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, it leaves the professional boxer no choice than to adhere to the judgement aforementioned so as to not inflict further sanctions which can permanently lead to his early exile from the sport.
