Fight Night at the Golden Beach Resort

The Golden Beach Resort, Korle Gonno- Accra is fast gaining grounds as a conducive hub for boxing shows in the capital.

 

Friday July 28 saw an array of fighters ranging from debutants to prospects and even contenders and “has beens ” parading on a bill put up by Swavy Blu Boxing Promotions.

 

Akotoku Gym trio of Isaac Taylor (Super Bantamweight), Issifu Yusif Seidu aka Sugar Ray (Super Lightweight) and Shakul ” Sharp Shooter” Samed (Super Middleweight) put up resplendent displays much to the admiration of fans present as they scored wins over Mohammed Tetteh, Francis Aryee and Prosper Quaye respectively.

The trio left no doubt about their championship potentials as they dazzled and glowed at the littoral venue.

Twinstars Boxing Management signee, Daniel Quaye of The Gym made quick work of Daniel Nyame in their Lightweight contest, ending the fight via the short route.

Hard-punching Charles Lesko Sossiya marked an impressive return with a stoppage win over a gritty Gabriel Adoku.

 

In an international Cruiserweight contest, Nigeria’s Olarewanju Durodola defeated Isaac Paa Kwesi Ankrah via TKO.

Experienced Ishmael Aryeetey won against Solomon Tetteh in a Lightweight encounter.

Light Heavyweight prospect Nii Ashitey Larbie blasted braggadocio John Ashie with a devastating roundhouse punch to notch a first round knockout. Ashie fell unconscious and medical help to resucitate.

 

The Pride Of Ashanti: Ashanti Warrior, Stanley Nyantakyi hailing from Kumasi and fighting out of the Bronx Boxing Gym knocked out Chorkor based Aaron Ashiley in round two.

After a hotly contested first stanza, Stanley, who is managed by Mr. Gordon Frimpong aka Osebor of the Osebor Boxing Management outfit stamped his authority and delivered flurries making Aaron succumb.

 

The night was graced by Alhaji Muritala Tofik, Lawrence Carl Lokko, Roger Barnor, Shadrach Acquaye (all GBA Executives), Yoofi Boham , officials from Swavy Blu among other distinguished personalities.
