Theophilus Allotey dominates Facundo David Garcia in unanimous decision victory
Ghana’s Theophilus Allotey defeated Argentine boxer Facundo David Garcia in a thrilling bout which took place at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Allotey won by a unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the fight 120-107.
The bout was promoted as a WBA title eliminator. In the August edition of the WBA super flyweight ranking, Allotey and Garcia were ranked 15th and 10th, respectively.
This result places 24-year-old Allotey right in the mix for a future world title shot against current champion David Jimenez (18-1, 12 KOs).
Allotey also improved his unbeaten streak to 15 and secured his second win of the year.
In the co-main event, 2020 Olympic medallist Samuel Takyi defeated Botwswana’s Steven Bagwasi via a second-round knockout.
Takyi delivered a combination finishing with a body shot that left Bagwasi on the canvas, unable to continue after the referee’s ten count.
With this win, Takyi’s undefeated record improves to 9, against a tough opponent.
The curtains fall on Obra Sports’ debut boxing event, which gave fight fans a series of thrilling fights they will not forget anytime soon.
