Sena Agbeko’s Date With Destiny

It has been one long topsy-turvy ride; an undulating one of course.

A path interspersed with highs and lows that, in accumulation has ignited a raging fire in the soul of certified journalist and bona-fide boxing juggernaut Sena Agbeko, the African Assassin; who clashes with Cuban operator David Morrell Jnr for the latter’s WBA Super Middleweight Strap.

The championship bout, a final main event of Showtime’s Championship Series would happen at The Armory In Minneapolis on December 16; drawing the curtains on the premier cable network’s 37 year journey as one of boxing’s most protuberant American television partners five years after HBO packed out.

Battling for a piece of the 168 lbs trinket would be unbeaten southpaw Morrell Jnr (9-0, 8 KOs) and hard punching Sena Agbeko (28-2, 22 KOs).

Agbeko definitely packs a punch and should prove the most difficult foe for Morrell Jnr who has eyes on Benavidez and Canelo but must surmount a herculean hurdle in “The African Assassin” whose angst concerning how Team Morrell perceptibly dumped him less than a week to their fight on the Davis- Garcia mega event hasn’t only deepened his resolve to win but also ignited a fire in him; a determination to go for nothing but the victory: a convincing one at that,

“I’m knocking him out, I’m here to spoil the party” he declared with all the conviction he could garner but with the calmness of one who has had a vision of what lies ahead.

He urged all Ghanaians to rally support as he dares to clinch Gold for the motherland, also home of global boxing icon and Hall Of Famer Azumah Nelson.

The clash itself would be epic: accuracy, efficiency, doggedness and heart are elements both Sena and Morrell cannot do without in the quest for unalloyed triumph.

They would require every ammunition in “The Armory” to emerge tops come December 16.

It’s Ghana Vrs Cuba!
