Mexico – In a light heavyweight encounter, former WBC world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (19-1, 15 KOs) continued his comeback with a sixth round stoppage of Ricards Bolotniks (19-7-1, 8 KOs). (photos by Melina Pizano).

Gvozdyk used his jab to control Boltniks through two rounds. Bolotniks began to get more aggressive with shots to the body, which forced Gvozdyk to engage a little more.

Both were connecting clean to the head in the fourth. Neither man was able to shake up the other. The fifth was more of the same, as the two fighters were really active with their heads at close range.

In the sixth, Gvozdyk came out with more urgency and began to unleash heavy punches on Bolotniks. He rocked Bolotniks, and punished him with punches to score a knockdown. Bolotniks got up, with a severe cut around the left eye, and the fight was waved off.
