At the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, former lightweight world title holder Jose Pedraza skillfully dispatched ever resilient Antonio Lazado in the ninth round on a TOP RANK card headlined by
Masayuki Ito-Jamel Herring in a WBO super featherweight title fight.

Lazado 29, (40-3-1, 34 KOs) kept a steady aggression on Pedraza from the beginning of the fight using his height and reach advantage to land decent punches as he kept the chase on Pedraza. He dominated the early rounds keeping Pedraza at a distance whiles he unleashed the jabs and right hooks forcing Pedraza to stay with the ropes.

Pedraza 30, (26-2, 13 KOs) changed his stance from Orthodox to southpaw as the rounds ware off, gained control and began to land more effectively.

The seventh and eighth rounds saw Pedraza fighting inside the ring rendering Lazano’s reach ineffective and landing power punches as they go into the pound for pound exchanges.

Pedraza landed a sleek right hook to the chin of  Lozada in the ninth round sending him flat to the canvas. Telis Assimenios the referee at the center of the ring counted and called the fight to continue. Shortly after, Padraza followed with a flurry of punches without a response from Lozada compelling Telis Assimenios to stop the fight.

“I became a champion in this division, and I want to become a champion in this division again and in heavier divisions as well,” Pedraza expressed shortly after the fight. “Lozada was a tough opponent who came to fight with all of his heart. He was a great test for me, and I passed it with flying colors. I can’t wait to see what is next.” He added.

On the night for the WBO super featherweight title, Jamel Herring defeated Masayuki Ito by unanimous decision (116-112, 118-110, 118-110)

Jeyvier Cintron versus Koki Eto ended in a no contest (accidental headbutt) – for the vacant WBO international super flyweight title, Adam Lopez defeated Jean Carlos Rivera by a Round 7 TKO – for the vacant NABF junior featherweight title and Carlos Cuadras defeated Daniel Lozano by unanimous decision also on the night.
