Instabul 2022: Moroccan Mouttaki Yasmine Records first Win for Africa

It’s been a continues defeat for African contingent at the ongoing IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Istanbul, Turkey as Algeria’s Mansouri Fatiha loses to her Venezuelan counterpart Cadeno Rojas in the Minimumweight division on day 2 yesterday in the preliminary stages.

 

Nevertheless, Moroccan contestant Mouttaki Yasmine recorded a win in the same Minimumweight division against Slovakian Durikova Nicole after another defeat from Kenyan Ogare Christine who lost on all the 5 judges’ cards to Okhota Hanna from Ukraine.

 

Still on day two results, Siljkovic Snezana from Serbia convincingly defeated South African Dila Vuyolwethu winning on all cards of the five judges.

 

Earlier today (day 3), Egyptian Mohamed Rahma Mahfouz lost to Mehmodova Aslahan from Bulgaria in the Lightweight division (60-63kg).

In the Flyweight division (50-52kg), Kenyan Maithori Ann Wanjiru also lost to Ukranian Kob Tetiana. Another Kenyan, Ouma Beatrice Akoth in the feather division lost to Brazilian Romeu Jucielen.

Algeria’s Khelif Imane defeated Abikeyeva Aida of Kazakhstan in the Light-Welterweight division to secure the 2nd win for Africa so far.

Finally in the Middleweight division, Kenya tasted another defeat after Ukrainian Makhno Karolina won against Akinyi Elizabeth.
