“I can’t promise but it would be better than previous” says Dauda Fuseni on Black Bombers at Glasgow 2026

President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) Dauda Fuseni believes the national boxing team, Black Bombers will perform well at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

Speaking to the media after the special boxing tournament between Ghana and Nigeria last Thursday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, he said “I can’t promise but this team will do better than the previous because it is their destiny to shine” he said.

According to him the team is new but they have experience of participating at the world and continental youth tournaments in Guinea and Serbia Montenegro.

He gave credit to the Nigerian boxers who dominated the female category, and noted that Ghana will shine at the Games.

“The Nigerians gave us a good run for our money, and it was a good training exercise, these are part of preparations for the Commonwealth and Olympic Games” he expressed.

The male boxers who represented Ghana were Ebenezer Ankrah, Desmond Pappoe,  Abdul Wahid Omar, Amadu Mohammed and Khalid Abdul the only loser.

Some of the favourite boxers missing in action were George Dowuona, Mathias Ashitey and Precious Akai Nettey who went on an European tour with the Bukom Boxing Club.

The female boxers named The Black Hitters were Ramatu Quaye, Nancy Bamfo and Elizabeth Nartey.

The coaches are Dr. Ofori Asare, Charles Quartey, Daniel Lartekwei Lartey and Benjamin Tetteh.

Dauda Fuseni also hailed the GHANA HOUSE project in Glasgow and said it was another creative initiative to bring people around to support Ghana sports. “Once it will promote and project Ghana I am for it and we are good to go” he expressed.
