“I ain’t giving anybody anything” – Richard Commey tells Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA)

Richard Commey has made it crystal clear in an interview that he does not intend to make any payments to the current Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).

According to the former International Boxing Federation lightweight champion,  “Why should I pay money? In the first place, this GBA came to release the ban on me just to ask for money?” He rhetorically quizzed.

The United Nations Association Of Ghana Commission For Women And Children Affairs (UNACWCA) ambassador further explained his decision not to pay

“I have never had a Ghanaian license since 2017 so why should I pay a commission to them when I have already paid it in the US.”

The Jamestown native also questioned the Authority’s contribution  to his career.

“What have they done for me to give them money? I ain’t giving anybody anything or kobo from my money.” Commey expressed.

The Ghanaian former world champion has had for the second time been suspended by the boxing governing body after the new Kotei Neequaye led administration had lifted his two year ban in September 2021 over similar comments.
