GPBL SEASON 2: Stanley Nkantayki and Emmanuel Mawuli thrill fans at the Bukom Boxing Arena

Fight Night 1 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League was stacked with 8 equally great bouts. However, the most exciting bout of the night was between Stanley Nyantekyi of Bronx Boxing Club and Emmanuel Mawuli of Charles Quartey Boxing foundation.

The featherweight contest of 6 rounds was full of energy, keeping fans on their feet throughout the bout which lasted 24 minutes.

Emmanuel Mawuli got the victory. However, Stanley Nkantekyi dazed him in the 4th round with a series of punches, making boxing fans believe a knockout was imminent, but Emmanuel was saved by the bell.

Emmanuel came back strong in the remaining rounds to take home the victory as Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation begins Season 2 strong. Bronx Boxing Gym, which is making its debut has signalled they are a force to reckon with.

Coach Carl Lokko, who owns Bronx Boxing Club was personally at the corner when his boxer lost honourable on points.

The judges on the night scored the bout 60- 54, 59- 55, and 60- 55 all in favour of Emmanuel Mawuli for a unanimous win.

Boxing fans who expressed excitement about this match-up hope to see more from both lads.

Stanley was advised by his fans to improve his accuracy and killer senses to make him better in his next bout.

Emmanuel was advised by fans to avoid infighting and maintain distance when fighting as vice versa can hurt him as they saw tonight.

Francis, a boxing fan said

“I was really afraid in the round 4 eiiii, I thought my boxer has finished ohhh!!!, I am really happy he came back stronger.”

Other exciting fights on the card were between Francis Akakpo and Shakul Samir as well as Will Power’s Daniel Somotey vs Anane Klukutsevs of Ghana Prisons Service.
