Holy Dorgbetor calls out undefeated boxer Taiwo Agbaje
Holy ‘The Jawbreaker’ Dorgbetor has issued a challenge to the newly minted WBA Africa Lighteright champion Taiwo Agbaje for a fight.
Dorgbetor made the call out via a social media post which read: “Forget the respect. Once that bell rings, I’m coming for you. […] I’ve heard all the hype, boy. Now step up and prove you’re more than talk. Ghana vs Nigeria”
In April, Eshepo (18-0, 13 KOs) conquered a new weight division by winning the WBA lightweight title in the biggest fight of his career against fellow countryman Tosin Osaigbovo.
The undefeated boxer also made headlines recently for being the trainer for Nigerian musician Portable, preparing him for his fight against Charles Okocha in July.
Dorgbetor (14-2-1, 8 KOs) also boasts an impressive list of accomplishments. He has held national and UBO featherweight titles, as well as the IBF Africa featherweight title. Additionally, he was a participant in the 2025 WBC Grand Prix in Riyadh.
Although Abaje holds a title at lightweight, for most of his professional career, he has fought in the featherweight and super featherweight classes, and it is likelythat he will continue to compete in these divisions in his future bout.
The fight, should it occur, will feature two of the continent’s top featherweights facing off.
This match is made even more intriguing because it’s between boxers from rival nations. Ghana and Nigeria have a long-standing rivalry in sports, music, and even food.
For now, Agbaje is booked to face Sagar Chouhan in Accra in December, which places a fight with Dorgbetor at a later date, should it be considered.
