GBA Executive Board Elections Scheduled for June 4 by GBIMC as Nominations Open


The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) has announced that an Extraordinary Congress to elect a substantive Executive Board for the Ghana Boxing Authority GBA) will be held on Thursday, 4th June 2026, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The notice, issued on 11th May 2026 and signed by GBIMC Chairman Samir Captan, said the congress is being convened in accordance with Articles 4.6, 7.4 and 7.8 of the GBA Constitution and the GBIMC Election Roadmap. Proceedings will begin at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

Positions to be contested include President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, and four Executive Board Members. The election marks a key step toward restoring a fully constituted leadership for Ghana boxing after the GBIMC’s extended mandate to oversee the sport’s administration.

Nomination timeline opens on Thursday, 14th May 2026 and closes on Tuesday, 19th May 2026. Candidates must submit duly completed forms signed by a proposer and seconders, along with four passport-size photographs, the prescribed fee, and a brief statement of qualifications and background. The official list of candidates will be published on 22nd/23rd May 2026.

Only members and associations in good standing fully registered, licensed, and not in arrears are eligible to vote. Delegates must be nominated and submitted to the GBIMC Secretariat by 19th May 2026.GBIMC said a three-member committee headed by the Chairman to oversee the election process will be announced in the coming days.

Detailed instructions and modalities for candidates will be contained in an “elections modalities kit” to accompany the official nomination forms.The GBIMC was established to manage the affairs of Ghana boxing and prepare the ground for democratic elections to the GBA Executive Board.
