Ghana’s George Ashie moments ago lost to his American opponent Alexis Rocha via a round 7 vicious knockout in his attempt to win the WBO NABO welterweight title fight.
Ashie, was uncomfortable throughout the debacle as the difference in the weight class was as telling and frightening. Fighting in welterweight for the first time against a much bigger opponent in Rocha with a reach advantage.
The Mexican American had a one-sided bout up until his accidental cut but still managed to secure a round 7 knock out win.
“Excuse me, I beat the shit out of him.” The self-styled “Lex” bullishly expressed in his post fight comments.
When quizzed on the potency of Ashie’s punches, he said
“I did not feel none of his punches.”
Ashie now has a record of 34 fights, only 6 defeats,1 draw, with 25 of the wins by way of knockouts whiles Rocha improves his record to 22 wins with 1 defeat.
