The footballer turn Coach began his interest in sports with playing football for a number of Accra based clubs. The decision to go into boxing coach is because of passion

“I used to observe the late Coach Alloway, but I came into boxing through a boxer friend, George Ashie.

“I started my career in boxing as a Coach’s apprentice at Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club. My original plan was to go into football coaching but coming to the gym with George, I became more interested in boxing, so I was like why not?”

“My role model in boxing is the late Coach Alloway, I love his coaching style, relationship with his boxers and how carries himself as boxer trainer. I would say alot I do today, I copied from him (Mr. Nii Djani Kotey aka Alloway)

“My vision as a Coach is to bring back the love Ghanaians have for the sport; the old glory days of boxing which have been lost.”

He continued, “My main motive for doing boxing is to give Ghana another world champion”

“Since I joined Jamestown Boxing Club, I have observed that we have great potentials, others may not see it but we (myself and Coach Amugi) are the ones training them daily and we know that given the exposure and platform they will excel beyond expectations.”

Together with my head coach Mr. Ransford Amugi we have qualified a boxer to the National team and have a number of boxers in the National juvenile team.
