Dr. Edward Osei, the CEO of PKO Boxing and PKO Group of companies has sent a message of gratitude to all who contributed in the successful Homowo FightFest event at Abelemkpe on Saturday August 22, 2026.
It was their second event in Ghana and it produced a World Boxing League (WBL) Africa Light Heavyweight Champion in Prince Kamaldeen Mohammed who stopped Kokou De Souza of Togo.
Speaking on GHOne on Thursday, Dr. Osei said he can mark 11 over 10 for their organisation and production of the boxing show which was the first time at Abelemkpe.
According to Dr. Osei the purpose is to create channels to getting a world title and they are on it, gradually.
He was very hopeful that some of the young talented boxers in the PKO Boxing camp will emerge as a continental and global champion.
He thanked the GBA Interim Management Committee and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation as well as National Sports Authority (NSA) for their backing and the boxing fraternity who showed up to express their love and the media who promoted and publicised the event.
After Koforidua 1957 Showdown and now Abelemkpe Homowo FightFest to honour his roots, the next venue should be the Bukom Boxing Arena.
PKO has been in existence for the past 17 years in Europe and operated in Ghana for only one and a half years, but they are visible in boxing circles.
They have attracted international recognition with Adidas as one of their partners and they are not only in boxing but football and other sports.
PKO is becoming a house name in Ghana after they signed some popular young boxers like Prince Kamaldeen Mohammed, Ebenezer Kolebe ,Hamza Abdul Wahab, 13 years old Abdul Rahman Lokko and Joseph Commodore.
PKO has honoured Ghana’s boxing greats like D.K. Poison, the first world champion, Nana Yaw Konadu and Coach Carl Lokko as Directors.
Dr. Osei believes the good gold days will retain and Ghana will get another world champion.
