Ghana’s finest Boxing Referee and Judge Roger Barnor is now the Vice Chairman of APBC Ring Officials Committee

Highly respected Ghanaian boxing referee and judge Roger Barnor has secured the portfolio as the Vice Chairman of Association of Professional Boxing Commissions (APBC) ring officials Committee as at 3rd May 2019.

The renowned boxing referee and judge who is noted for his ‘no-nonesense approach’, well vexed in the intepretation of the rules and codes governing the noble art of self defense has a lot of ring experience and recently officiated a high profile international bout in the United Kingdom.

Roger Nii Bonney Barnor is equally set to officiate  International Boxing Organization World Cruiserweight Title fight in South Africa on the 8th of June between Vasil Ducar of the Czech Republic (7-1, 6KOs) and Kevin Lerena (22-1,10 KOs) of South Africa.

The fast growing APBC is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) through which the Commissions regulate the Sport of Professional Boxing World-wide are able to cooperate and discuss, as well as introduce regulations for the betterment of the Sport and those that compete, especially within the realms of Licensing and Medical Standards.

By this, Roger becomes the second Ghanaian to have chalked a massive portofolio in this noble but powerful body in the APBC after Patrick Johnson of the Ghana Boxing Authority.

The Ghanaian ring official, Barnor,  is one of Ghana’s longest serving referee judges and holds all the top badges.

The Jamestown native have acquainted himself in some of the best boxing international matchups including that of Isaac Dogboe, Emmanuel Tagoe, Duke Micah and many others.

He brings to bare a lot of experience in his close-to two decades of officiating in over 342 top bouts to date.
