Ghanaian Heavyweight Richard Lartey Slapped with Severe Punishment by GBA

Former WBO African Heavyweight Champion, Richard Harrsion Lartey has been slapped with further punishment by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).

The Ghanaian Heavyweight prospect whose fight record stands at 14-4 has had a turbulent past with Ghana’s Boxing governing body in the past and is currently serving a five-year ban from the sports in his native country.

The fighter left the shores of Ghana for a fight in Russia which was not sanctioned by the GBA and checks has it that, ‘Ghana’ was mentioned in his corner.

In view of this the GBA has added further punishment to their five-year suspension imposed on the fighter earlier this year.

According to the new punishment contained in a GBA communique, Lartey must never be seen anywhere near a boxing gym in Ghana or be engaged in any GBA sanctioned event anywhere.

Ricahrd Lartey was handed a five-year ban by the Ghana Boxing Authority for forgering an authorization from the Authority to fight Fabio Wadley in the United Kingdom last year.
