Ghanaian Budding Stars To Decide UBO Africa Title

When two of Ghana’s brightest prospects collide on March 5 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Africa Super Bantamweight title will be on the line.

23-year-old Daniel Gorsh (10-0, 8 KOs) will face 21-year-old Moses Adjei Selvi (8-1-1, 8 KOs) in one of the main bouts of a show billed as “Independence Eve Rumble”, promoted by Box Office Sports in association with Platinum Punch Promotions.

Also on the card, UBO Inter-Continental Bantamweight champion Martin Hillman (16-7, 2 KOs) from the United Kingdom will make his first title-defense against powerful Tanzanian Baraka Mchongi (7-6, 7 KOs).

Gorsh turned pro in March of 2021, and won the Ghanaian national Super Bantamweight title in April of last year. He last boxed this past February, when he stopped journeyman Edward Kambasa in three rounds.

For Adjei Selvi it will be his first opportunity to win a title in the paid ranks. He also turned pro in 2021, having to settle for a draw, but has since, except for a loss on points, stopped every opponent who stepped in the ring with him.

Most recently, in December of 2023, he beat unbeaten Isaac Taylor (3-0), forcing him to retire after six rounds.

Two young and hungry, hard-punching rivals will collide, and it will almost certainly be fireworks in the ring before a new UBO Africa champion is crowned on March 5.
