Dr. Henry Manly-Spain, Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Authority after the announcement of Mr. Peter Zwennes’ desire to step down as the President of Ghana Boxing Authority made his intentions clear to run for President of Ghana’s highest boxing body.

Dr. Manly-Spain who has served diligently and selflessly has won the hearts of many stakeholders who have watched him both from afar and those who have worked close to him.

After picking his nomination forms at the GBA secretariat, many have already tipped Dr. Manly-Spain as the favourite candidate following his service to the association and his meritorious addition.

To make his intention about the new position he is vying for reach the stakeholder who have the power to make or unmake his presidential ambition, Dr. Manly-Spain has drafted a message detailing what his ambitions are for the Ghana Boxing Authority should he be voted as the next president in the next 9 days.

The draft states,

Lead the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to acquire a secretariat

-Create the necessary environment for an establishment of a permanent secretariat of the Ghana Boxing Authority.

Boxing Tourism and Capacity Building

-Create a working relationship with the sanctioning bodies (WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO) to host the boxing conventions here in Ghana.

-Organise capacity building events both locally and abroad for our trainers, referees, media etc.

-Lobby for big fights to be staged here in Ghana

 

Corporate Partnerships and Branding Ghana Boxing

-Engage brand experts in Ghana Boxing to attend the needed investments and sponsorship.

-Work closely with Promoters and managers in prospecting for corporate sponsorship for boxing events.

 

To create a strong media presence for GBA

-Establish good communications office for the GBA.

-Establish GBA TV with enhanced visibility on social media.”

With these said by the current Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, it is clear that his vision for the GBA is not limited to just having the title as President but rather ensuring to bring extra improvement and strategies that will ensure gradual growth and conformity.
