Nathaniel Collins vs. Felix Williams

Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) International Feather champion Felix Williams (29-2, 22KOs) is set to face unbeaten Brit Nathaniel Collins (7-0, 2KOs) on 16th July for the vacant Commonwealth Featherweight title at the New Douglas Park,Hamilton, Scotland, United Kingdom.

The experienced Ghana based Nigerian southpaw, Williams has been off the ring for more than a year now having fought Mettle Ayitey where he stopped him in round 2 in a welterweight contest at the Bukom Boxing Arena. His highest achievement in his career was when he won the vacant IBF International feather title at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana after he knocked out his fellow coutryman Waidi Usman in the first round. After the first round, Usman did not answer the bell for the 2nd round after realizing what he went through in the 1st.

Just after the IBF International glory for Felix Williams on 9th August, 2019, he had another title shot in November with Josh Wale at the Ponds Forge Arena, Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK where he fiercely battled Wale for the IBO International Feather title. The fight traveled its full length with the Brit Josh Wale winning by a majority decision after the 10 rounds featherweight contest.

Felix Williams 31, has another opportunity next month to make an announcement with the Commonwealth title which can give him a huge advantage of gaining a world title shot as he faces a younger opponent in Nathaniel Collins 24.

The unbeaten featherweight prospect, Nathaniel ‘The Nightmare’ Collins has a huge advantage fighting on home soil with him highly tipped to win on the night. Nevertheless, it won’t come that cheap facing a highly experienced fighter who has a KO ratio of 78%.

Having had just 7 pro fights in his career, Collins’ biggest test will be against the Ghanaian southpaw with the Commonwealth feather title being the reward on the night. The Brit must therefore not take the fight lightly as Williams will be on a mission to make an announcement for a world title shot.

I must say Felix Williams 31, is at the peak of his career and must make every effort to grab this big opportunity come July 16 in the UK.

Wishing him a big win.
