Twenty Six (26) year old Ghanaian bantamweight prospect, Felix Okine is set to face the unbeaten Nigerian bantamweight pugilist Opeyemi Adeyemi for the vacant West African Boxing Union (WABU) Bantam Title.

The Nigerian Boxing Board of Control sanctioned bout scheduled for a 10 round championship contest is set to be staged at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria on the 21st of May, 2022.

Felix Okine (6-3, 6KOs) after having lost his last three fights against Michael Tagoe, Theophilus Tetteh and Rilwan Oladosu, will go into this fight as an underdog to face an unbeaten fighter at the Nigerian’s homeland. Despite Okine’s bad record in his last three fights, his opponent must be very cautious of his power punch looking at Okine’s 100% knockout ratio.

The hosting fighter Opeyemi Adeyemi (7-0-1, 5KOs) will look forward to win his first pro title after having won seven of his pro fights and drawing just one with no defeat on his CV.

The event, dubbed “Battle in the Ballroom” is Promoted by Henry Lewis’ Lewis Boxing Promotions and is set to stage eleven (11) other bouts including a contest for the vacant WABU featherweight title between Taiwo Agbaje (11-0, 6KOs) and a yet to be announced (TBA) opponent as well as a 10 round contest between Adeyemi Adekanla and Azeez Tijani for the Nigerian Super Lightweight title.
