Mathias Ashitey dreams big after moving from Black Rockets to Black Bombers
SWAG Boxer of the year 2025, Mathias Ashitey who turned 19 on Saturday 23rd May is dreaming big to become a gold medalist at the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and LA Olympic Games in 2028..
After winning the African Youth Games Championship gold medal and a few international visits, the Jamestown boy believes he can make it.
Starting boxing at a very tender age visiting gyms, he settled at the Black Panthers Boxing Gym and under Coach Ebenezer Adjei aka Killer, he has developed and graduated from the Black Rockets (U18) to the elite youth and hopes to shine with the Black Bombers (A18).
Mathias Ashitey recently had the privilege of joining the Bukom Boxing Gym and Ghana Boxing Federation team together wisdom Precious Akai Nettey for an international exchange programme in Paris, France.
He said it was a good trip for him in shaping his mind, perspective and calming him as he focuses on the future.
