Ivan Bruce Cudjoe (IBC) calls on United Boxing Coaches Association
Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Presidential Aspirant, Mr. Ivan Bruce Cudjoe aka IBC on Tuesday paid a fruitful working visit to the United Coaches Association of Ghana at their usual meeting place at the Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club, Jamestown.
The coaches expressed their major concern which is their welfare which IBC did not promise but will try to help solve some of the petty issues.
He assured them of collaboration with the National Sports Authority (NSA) for attachment to scout boxers in the districts and regions.
On working with the constitution he answered a question put by their Secretary which Ivan replied “Who am I not to accept the decision of the board, I will abide by the majority decision, I am for all and putting Ghana first is the agenda”.
“I am not quick tempered but I don’t listen to everyone, I believe everybody has an opinion” he expressed.
The CEO of Cabic Promotions and Idrowhyt Events Centre promised the return of the national Boxing League with regions well represented to produce quality and credible national champions who will compete for the Commonwealth and world titles.
He noted that Ghana must get back to its former glorious days.
According to IBC, the GBA will create a solid relationship with all world boxing bodies, such as WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO as well as The Ring Magazine to have local champions rated internationally.
He said that one good heavyweight boxer can rake in millions of dollars so boxers need to be given attention and treated well so that they can perform to win and bring returns.
Ghana has a couple of quality young boxers who can entertain and box well into international recognition like Emmanuel Mankattah, Michael Darko, Theo Allotey, Daniel Gorsh, John Laryea, John Zile, Africanus Neequaye, Faisal Abubakar, Samuel Takyi, Joseph Commey, Alfred Lamptey, Micheal Abban, Ahmed Abdula, Wasiru Mohammed, Henry Malm, Sampson Segbedzi Freezy Macbones and Jonathan Tetteh.
