Sedem Ama (5-0, 1 KO) made her grand debut to the Ghanaian public in 2025, winning by majority decision for the WBA Africa super welterweight title.
Originally from the Volta Region of Ghana, Ama now lives in the UK, where she balances boxing with her day job as a marketing professional.
She began boxing at the Repton Boxing Club as a casual way to exercise after work and
occupy her time outside the office. However, that quickly evolved into a full-blown passion.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Sedem has since become a two-time national amateur champion and now holds the WBA Africa title.
She will aim to keep her perfect professional record against Cape Verde’s Ivanusa Moreira (3-0,
1 KO), a former Olympian, on April 10.
Moreira boasts a decorated amateur boxing history, including a gold medal from the 2023 Africa
Boxing Championship and a bronze from the 2019 African Games.
The last time Sedem faced an undefeated fighter was against Chiamaka Nwaturuocha, where
she won the bout. This time, the question is if she can defeat a former Olympic boxer.
Sedem stated in an interview this week that she has undergone an intense training camp and is
fully prepared for the entire 8 rounds, with the focus on getting her hands raised.
The bout will be on the Legacy Rise event which will take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra on April 10th.
