Can Abdul Aziz pull off the upset against Jonathan Tetteh?
Light heavyweight contender “The Punisher” Abdul Aziz Quartey (26-3-1, 22 KOs) will aim to
overthrow reigning national champion Jonathan “Worldwide” Tetteh (11-0, 10 KOs) come Sunday, April 5.
Quartey is the more experienced boxer, having competed in 30 fights across various weight classes from lightweight to heavyweight.
He made his debut in 2014 and competed for the national lightweight title three years later, ultimately losing to Robert Quaye by unanimous decision.
“The Punisher” is now targeting the light heavyweight title, but standing in his way is the formidable “Worldwide” Tetteh
Tetteh is coming off an impressive 2025, having secured both the national and WBA Africa light
heavyweight titles by defeating Ernest Akushey and Freezy Macbones, respectively.
This marks Tetteh’s twelfth professional fight, almost half the number of bouts Quartey has participated in.
Quartey has demonstrated good technique in many of his fights by mixing up his shots in a well-executed manner. However, he has been knocked out before, and his chin could be prone to big blows.
If Jonathan Tetteh can find his chin, it could be an early stoppage.
Tetteh remains undefeated as a professional boxer, boasting 10 knockouts but Quartey is no
slouch as well, recording a 95% knockout rate in 23 wins.
Quartey’s offense, however, would only be truly effective if he can remained defensively sound,
and prevent himself from being hit by Tetteh’s power punches.
Two of Ghana’s finest boxers will go head-to-head in this bout, proving who reigns supreme in
the light heavyweight division
