GBF Calls On Former President, Bernard Quartey To Handover Documents

GBF Calls On Former President, Bernard Quartey Abide By Principles Of Probity And Accountability And Hand Over Documents

Former President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), Bernard Quartey has been called upon by the current executive to hand over documents and present account of his stewardship after losing the elections on December 27, 2025

According to Second Vice President, Solomon Otoo Lartey, they are finding it very difficult to operate as documents have not been handed over properly by Bernard Quartey.

He alleged that Quartey ran a one man show and although some of them were in the previous administration, but never knew what was actually going on in terms of expenditure and incomes.

He therefore said if the former President refuses to hand over, then the National Sports Authority (NSA) and Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) must step in.

Nii Gonti Adjor 1 aka Nii Adama Addy, First Vice President confirmed that the money left in their account by Quartey was nothing to write home about, so he should come out at a meeting and explain how monies where used in his time and how much did he received from the 2023 African Games and other international competitions in Montenegro and the UAE that the national team participated.

Nii Gonti who is Atukpai Mantse and owner of The Gym said the GBF had it tough to organize the successful 2026 Individual Amateur Championship, but for loans they took from some friends of boxing, so many people felt all was easy.

He expressed that most of the companies that promised failed to deliver and commended Cartel Rentals, Freight Consult, Base Pharmacy and Twellium Ghana, producers of Verna Mineral Water and Rush Energy Drink for their gesture in presenting vouchers and products to the winners and the GBF.

Meanwhile, the GBF is planning to participate in the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the new team is being prepared for camping and possible friendly warm up matches.

“All these programmes can be done well with the availability of funds, we need funds to camp and feed the boxers, as well as cloth and brand them to look attractive, all of these are backed by money” he stressed.

Treasurer of the GBF, Mustapha Nettey said many companies know the prowess of the Black Bombers when it comes to international competition, so they should not wait to be invited to support, but come forward and show love.

Since Dauda Fuseni and the new team took over, they have rebranded and changed the logo of the GBF. He has promised to give opportunities to coaches, media and ring officials and boxers.

Fuseni who is also President of the West African Zone 2 has promised to initiate events and programs to raise the standard of amateur boxing in the sub region.
