Andrew Tate to return to fighting after 5 years
Popular social media personality and former pro kickboxer Andrew Tate will return to the ring on December 20, but this time under boxing rules.
Tate is scheduled to fight social media influencer Chase DeMoorin a heavyweight exhibition match, promoted by Misfits Boxing.
The event, which is being called ‘the fight before Christmas,’ will also showcase crossover boxing stars like Tony Ferguson, Taylor Starling and Pearl Gonzales, who previously competed in mixed martial arts, in addition to the BKFC Fighter and model Tai Emery.
Andrew Tate’s most recent fight was in 2020, where he defeated Cosmin Lingurar by TKO in the second round. Though he has experience in kickboxing and MMA, this will be Tate’s first professional boxing match, albeit an exhibition. He is a heavy favourite against Chase DeMoor, whose boxing career began in 2022.
At the age of 29, DeMoor has youth on his side, as he is 10 years younger than Andrew Tate.
On the other hand, Tate has the experience advantage, having competed in kickboxing since 2007 with a record of 76-9-1.
Tate was also a four-time kickboxing champion, holding titles in Enfusion and the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA).
In November, Tate was named the new CEO of Misfits Boxing, taking over from Olajide Olatunji (KSI).
Co-founded by KSI and Mams Taylor, Misfits Boxing is a popular celebrity boxing promotion known for organizing celebrity boxing events.
This places Tate among a select group of fighter-promoters; individuals who compete while also managing a fighting organization.
Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, Darren Till and Anthony Pettis are among such fighters who are now involved in the management of combat sport promotions.
