WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is expecting to blast out mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte in the coming months.

Their fight is slated to take place on April 23, likely at Wembley Stadium. And BT Sport Pay-Per-View and ESPN Pay-Per-View carrying the event.

A few weeks ago, Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren slammed down a record $41 million bid to secure the promotional rights to the fight.

Pursuant to WBC’s ordered split, Fury will receive 80% of that bid.

“That’s the fight we’re going to do. Frank won the purse bids. And now what we’re going to do is knock [him] out,” Fury told The National.

Whyte has been out of the ring for nearly a year, with his last fight being in March 2021, when he picked up a stoppage over Alexander Povetkin in their rematch.

Fury saw action back in October, when overcame two knockdowns to pick up a sensational knockout victory in the eleventh round of his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.

Now he’s focused on taking down Whyte.

“The guy’s a bum. None of these fights turn me on any more. Not one of them. It’s just a boxing match to me now. Even the Wilder fights didn’t really get me up for the fights. It’s just a boxing match these days. I don’t have any specific reason for doing it. I do it because I can and it’s easy. That’s it,” Fury said.

“I just think [Whyte is] a bit of a bitch. I know he’s a bitch. Because I put it on him and he wouldn’t even fight back. Coward. And I ain’t got no time for cowards.

“[The fight will be] easy. I knock [him] out. Very easy as well. I’m going to land one of these bazookas on him and it’s going to be over.”
