Robert ‘the stopper’ Quaye made a quick work on Tanzanian boxer Vincent Mbilinyi few hours ago at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra- Ghana when he KOed his opponent via a first round TKO.

The Ghanaian was just a class apart in this bout as he gave the Tanzanian pugilist a big lesson in boxing, perhaps the most diverse of characters in boxing must admit that defensive skill set are only valid within a ruleset because Robert Quaye destroyed Mbilinyi’s defenses within a minute of round one when he Knocked him down.

Robert Quaye was simply on song with his quick feet, swiftly measured acceleration, left hook with a thunder right overheads and power combo that unsettled the Tanazanian and resulted in him visiting the canvas on two different occasions with a copious space of one minute.

What makes Robert Quaye a special fighter is his ability to think in the ring, his timing and heavy splitting punches. Indeed there is a saying in boxing, a great boxer plays chess and the average boxer plays checkers, that was what unfolded this morning at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

After the fight, the self styled ‘Stopper’ said

“I thank all the Chiefs and the fans that made it here to support me. I say God richly bless everybody.”

He further rallied support for his compatriot Isaac Dogboe for him to re-claim his title that he lost against Navarrete.

“I am pleading with all to support and pray for Isaac Dogboe to reclaim his title, I believe in him as a good boxer, so please let’s rally behind him with prayers as well. Robert Quaye pleaded.

The event which was powered by the newest promotional hub was simply a blockbuster with some mouthwatering match-ups that got the fans clapping throughout.

And now the New World Boxing Organisation Africa Super Lightweight Champion is Robert Quaye  ‘the Stopper.’
