Freeze Macbones rumoured to face Dan Azeez in upcoming bout
Following a winning start to 2026, Freezy Macbones (12-1, 11 KOs) has has set his sights on former Commonwealth and European light heavyweight titleholder ‘Super’ Dan Azeez (23-3-1, 14 KOs).
Talks are underway for the pair to fight later this year per Ezekiel Adamu, the CEO of Balmoral Promotions.
Macbones and Azeez were guests at the recent ‘Chaos in the Ring’ event held in Nigeria and engaged in a faceoff.
‘I used to look up to you, but now is my time’ said Macbones during the faceoff.
Azeez himself is coming of a win in July in a tuneup bout aganst the veteran Grant Dennis where he won by unanimous decision.
In 2025, both Azeez and Macbones fought on the Matchroom event at the Legon Sports Stadium, with both men suffering losses.
Macbones lost a unanimous decision to Jonathan ‘Worldwide’ Tetteh, while Dan Azeez suffered a 12th round knockout loss to Craig Richards.
Based off resumes, Freezy will be challenging against a more experinced opponent who has held a regional title in the past.
The bout, when scheduled will likely take place in Nigeria and promoted by Balmoral Boxing Promotions.
