Nine boxers are representing Ghana at the Commonwealth games in the boxing events. Eight (8) men and a woman (Ornella Sathoud 70-75kg). Ornella starts Ghana campaign on 29th, against Brit Kerry Davis at the NEC Hall 4, fight time is 13:45 (UK Time) Friday, 29 July 2022 .

 

The next boxer to mount the ring will be Abdul Wahib Omar going up against Isle of Man’s Jamie Devine at 19: 30 (UK Time) at NEC Hall 4.

 

Shakul Samir will later be fighting in Bout no.17 against Mauritius’s Jean Luc ROSALBA at  20:15 (UK Time) also at The NEC Hall 4

On Saturday, Joseph Commey will be in action in a 54kg- 57kg (Featherweight) category in the Round of 32 Bout against Kiribati boxer Betero AAREE at 12 :15 (UK time).

 

On Sunday, 31st July, Abubarkari Quartey will battle it out with Nigeria’s Adeyinka BENSON in the Men’s Over 71Kg- 7kg (Middle Weight) Round of 16 at 14: 15, (UK Time).

On Monday August 1, Yaw Addo will take on Clepson Antonio Dos Santos PAIVA from Northern Ireland in a Round of 16 Men’s Flyweight contest at 18:30( UK time), also at the NEC Hall 4.

On 2nd August, 2022, Jessie Lartey is scheduled to box Mohammed Harris AKBAR in a Men’s Over 67kg-71kg (Light Middle) – Round of 16 at 14:15 (UK Time).

 

Alfed Kotey and Tokas from India will fight Bout No. 96 for a spot in last 8 of the Welterweight over 63.5kg – 67kg at 19:15 (UK Time).

Abraham Mensah will be the closest Ghanaian Boxer to the medal zone, as he waits to fight a yet to be named opponent for a place in the Semi-finals. Mensah will fight winner of Bout No.82 (Kenyan Shaffi Bakari Hassan versus Sri Lanka’s
