Jarrell Miller rumoured to headline Ghana event in December

Top heavyweight contender Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller is rumoured to headline a boxing event in Ghana at the end of the year.

Miller, who is signed to Matchroom Boxing, could be the main event for the promotion’s second event in Ghana.

In December 2025, Accra witnessed history at the Legon Sports Stadium as Matchroom staged their first event in West Africa.

The event was headlined by UK light heavyweights Craig Richards and Dan Azeez and showcased several Ghanaian boxers such as Theophilus Allotey, Freezy Macbones, Jonathan Tetteh, and Sedem Ama.

Should the rumour prove true, Matchroom is set to return to Ghana with Jarrell Miller featured as the main event.

The 38-year-old heavyweight is coming off two wins already this year after a 17 month hiatus.

Miller defeated Kingsley Ibeh in January via split decision and then won a unanimous decision against Lenier Pero in April which propelled him to number one on the WBA rankings.

It is currently unknown who Miller’s opponents will be, but a potential fight with Nigerian heavyweight Efe Ajagba or Congo’s Martin Bakole could make an interesting main event bout.

Last month, Matchroom President Eddie Hearn was looking to set up a bout between British-Ghanaian boxer Denzel Bentley and Yoenli Hernandez in Ghana.

However, Bentley’s signing with rival promoter Zuffa Boxing has paused those fight plans for now.
